Large Red Garnet Tree of Life – 2nd Anniversary Gift for Husband, 280 Natural Garnet Stones, Copper, Silver or Gold Wire, Personalized Bowl

A large handmade Red Garnet Tree of Life in deep wine red: 280 polished natural garnet spheres in burgundy, claret and dark cherry, glowing like a glass of red wine held up to a candle. Each one is wired by hand onto a full, generous tree set in a white ceramic bowl that you can personalize with your names, your wedding date or a photo of the two of you.

Garnet is the birthstone of January, and in crystal tradition it is a stone of passion, loyalty and commitment, often linked with the sign of Capricorn, steady and devoted. Garnet is also linked with the 2nd wedding anniversary, which makes this tree a romantic gift for a husband or a January birthday.

THE GARNETS OF SUTTON HOO

In the summer of 1939, at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, England, archaeologists uncovered the grave of an Anglo-Saxon king buried in a ship in the early 600s. Among the treasures were gold fittings set with thousands of thin slices of red garnet, more than 4,000 across the burial, fitted into tiny gold cells in a technique called cloisonné. A pair of shoulder clasps alone holds over a thousand stones. Recent scientific analysis for the British Museum showed that many of these garnets had travelled all the way from India and Sri Lanka.
