A large handmade Green Opal Tree of Life in earthy olive and rust: 280 polished natural green opal spheres in sage, olive and grey green, with deeper forest green, pale almost white ones and warm touches of rust, tan and khaki, mottled and cloudy like a forest floor in autumn. Each one is wired by hand onto a full, generous tree set in a white ceramic bowl that you can personalize with a name, a family message or a photo with the grandchildren.

THE QUEEN'S OPAL
Green opal and the bright opals of Australia are the same material, silica with water locked inside. In 1949 a miner's pick turned over a fine stone at the Andamooka opal fields in South Australia. Cut and polished by John Altmann to 203 carats and set in a necklace with diamonds, it was presented to Queen Elizabeth II at a state banquet in Adelaide on 23 March 1954, during her first visit to Australia. It is still known as the Andamooka Opal, or the Queen's Opal.
