Burmese Jadeite Tree of Life – Gift for a Yoga Teacher, 46 Genuine Jade Stones in Spring Leaf Green, Copper, Silver or Gold Wire, Personalized Bowl

A handmade Jadeite Tree of Life in spring leaf green: 46 small polished genuine Burmese jadeite spheres in soft greens with milky white clouds, like new leaves in morning mist. Each one is wired by hand onto a little tree set in a white ceramic bowl with white pebbles that you can personalize with a name, a studio name or a few words of thanks for a teacher.

In crystal tradition jade is a stone of harmony, balance and long life, and it is often linked with the sign of Sagittarius. On 5 October the world marks World Teachers' Day, a good day to thank a yoga teacher with something calm and green.

THE KINGFISHER STONE OF THE URU RIVER

Most of the world's fine jadeite comes from one corner of northern Myanmar, around Hpakant, where boulders of jadeite have long been washed out of the hills and carried down the Uru river. Traders brought this Burmese stone to China, where it was called feicui, the word for the kingfisher, whose feathers flash the same bright green. Jadeite was told apart from the other jade, nephrite, only in 1863, when the French chemist Augustin Alexis Damour analysed it and gave it its own name.
