Pistachio Green Opal Tree of Life – Housewarming Gift for a Plant Lover, 46 Natural Green Opal Stones, Copper, Silver or Gold Wire, Personalized Bowl

A handmade Green Opal Tree of Life in pistachio green: 46 small polished natural green opal spheres in soft pistachio, sage and leaf green, with a gentle waxy glow, like new leaves on a windowsill full of houseplants. Each one is wired by hand onto a little tree set in a white ceramic bowl with white pebbles that you can personalize with a name, a new address or a few words for someone settling into their first home.

In crystal tradition green opal is a stone of renewal, calm and fresh starts, and it is often linked with the sign of Cancer, the homemaker of the zodiac. It is a fitting housewarming gift for a first apartment, a move or a shelf of plants that never stops growing.

THE SENATOR WHO KEPT HIS OPAL

The Roman scholar Pliny the Elder tells a story about an opal the size of a hazelnut, set in a ring owned by the senator Nonius. Mark Antony wanted it so badly that he had Nonius proscribed, declared an outlaw. Nonius fled Rome, and out of all his wealth he took only that ring, then valued at two million sesterces. Pliny marvelled both at Antony's greed and at the stubbornness of a man who would rather lose everything else than his opal.
